Create the minimum-permission credential

API key and secret limited to wallet and account reads. Order, position-changing and withdrawal capabilities are unnecessary. Create a dedicated key for portfolio tracking, review its permissions before saving it and revoke it at the exchange when it is no longer used.

How the balance becomes comparable

Unified wallet entries are converted to the common asset-and-quantity model used across all supported exchanges. Provider responses never leak directly into the dashboard; the product shows a consistent model and marks unavailable valuation instead of inventing a price.

Synchronization and limits

A connection is synchronized when it is created and can be refreshed within the workspace limits. Provider maintenance, clock drift, IP restrictions or changed key permissions can produce a visible synchronization error without deleting the last known portfolio state.
